Grande Communications is proud to be the premier sponsor and a competitor in the 2017 Pixelwood Derby. Pixelwood Derby is a semi-competitive pinewood derby race that brings together Austin’s best and most impactful companies to raise money for a local charity.

Twenty-eight teams will receive an official Pinewood Derby car kit to design along with rules for the race. Top designs will be decided by a select panel of judges, in addition to awards for speed, team spirit, and more. Expect this competition to be fierce and fun!
This year, all proceeds will go to STEMed Labs, an organization dedicated to promoting K-12 students’ engagement & academic success in science, technology, engineering, & math (STEM) education through extracurricular activities and mentorship programs. By rewarding risk, encouraging curiosity, and expecting creativity in their students, STEMed Labs is expanding STEM education opportunities in communities across the city and preparing students to be the innovators of tomorrow.
