The Long Center once again teams up with Do512 and The Alamo Drafthouse to announce Sound and Cinema 2014 – MORE live music and MORE of the most popular movies of all time! Bands will perform a tribute to the movie, followed by the film screening on The Alamo’s giant inflatable outdoor screen. This will take place on the lawn at the Long Center’s City Terrace, with the perfect view of the sun setting on the downtown skyline behind the stage.
The events are all free, all ages and open to the public. Seating on the lawn is available on a first come/first served basis, and there will be a collection of food trucks and vendors serving soft drinks as well as alcoholic beverages to guests on the Long Center City Terrace. Films for the 2014 season are TBA. Last year, as many as 5,000 people arrived on the City Terrace and lawns for each event.
Folding chairs and blankets are encouraged. Picnics are allowed, but no outside alcohol may be brought onto the Long Center grounds. The food trailers will be open by 6 pm, and the sunset concerts will begin at 7:30 pm each evening. The movie will immediately follow (after dark).
Pets are NOT encouraged at this event, but are allowed in the lawn areas only, NOT on the City Terrace.
