Sunday Morning Math Group – Pick’s Theorem

Feb 9, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

The Sunday Morning Math Group is an outreach event targeted at 6th-12th graders which attempts to supplement math topics that aren’t often covered in traditional math classes. The SMMG will be in room 4.102 of Robert Lee Moore Hall (on UT’s campus) on Sunday, Feb 9, 2020 from 12-2pm. They’re going to talk about an awesome pattern that comes up in geometry, called Pick’s Theorem. Pick’s Theorem says there is an awesome relationship between the area of certain shapes, called lattice polygons. They’ll talk about what these shapes are and what pattern of their area is!

The event is free, and there will be free bagels, free pastries, free coffee, free juice, and free street parking!
