Austin does two things better than any other city in the world: tacos and coffee; but we could use some help on our traffic situation. That’s why Carma Carpooling invites you to join them for a Free Commuter Breakfast at Whole Foods Downtown.
Tacos-n-Coffee: Free Commuter Breakfast
Wednesday, October 22
7:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Whole Foods Downtown (6th / Lamar)
This free breakfast is part of Mobility Week, October 20 – 24, a campaign dedicated to getting people out of their “single-occupant vehicles” and into a carpool, bus, or other mode of transportation. Companies around town are getting involved, with groups like AMD, NetSpend, and Bazaarvoice pledging to get their employees to adopt new commute habits that reduce traffic and CO2 emissions. We love biking and the bus, but let’s be honest – sometimes you want to sit in some A/C and stick to your normal commute schedule. That’s where Carma fits in.
If you haven’t heard about Carma Carpooling yet, we really love what they are doing here in Austin, and we told you all about them here. Carma matches users with each other to share rides during their commute to-and-from work, which alleviates traffic and helps members save some extra cash. They’re the only program locally that gets your tolls reimbursed when you carpool on the 183A or Manor Expressway toll roads. Just watch this video and it explains the idea perfectly:
If you like free tacos & coffee, reducing traffic, making the air cleaner, and making some money driving to work, or saving money while getting to work, we invite you to join us and Carma Carpooling for their Free Commuter Breakfast on October 22 at Whole Foods Downtown.
See ya there,
