Sep 7, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Join The University of Texas School of Architecture for a lecture with Mauricio Rocha, Taller Mauricio Rocha, in person at Goldsmith Lecture Hall (GOL 3.120) on Wednesday, September 7 at 12:30 p.m. This event is part of the Fall 2022 Lecture Series. A video will be posted to the Texas Architecture YouTube channel after the event, but in-person attendance is encouraged.
Mauricio Rocha studied architecture at the Max Cetto Workshop of the Architecture Faculty, UNAM, and founded Taller Mauricio Rocha in 1991. Mauricio works with the aim of developing contemporary architecture that is sensitive to its context and to the environment, combining local materials with available technology. The dignity and quality of spaces is a constant in all of the firm’s projects, as they look for the perfect balance of budget, context, typology, and, of course, the user. Mauricio has received major awards, individually and with the firm, such as the Gold Medal at the eighth Biennale of Mexican Architecture in 2004 and the eleventh Biennale in 2010, as well as recognition at the Pan-American and the Latin American Architecture Biennale.
