Event Description: Join the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum for a very special UMLAUF After Dark celebrating the opening of the UMLAUF Prize 2017 Exhibition – Bucky Miller: Grackle Actions – on Tuesday, September 5.
Every year the UMLAUF Prize honors an outstanding graduate student from The University of Texas at Austin with an exhibition, lecture, and cash award. For the past thirteen years, the Austin museum has recognized emerging artists from the University where Charles Umlauf taught for forty years with a showcase of their original art. By supporting artists at the beginning of their careers, the museum continues in the spirit of Charles Umlauf’s mentorship and generosity.
The Prize opening is from 6pm – 8pm and will feature remarks from Bucky Miller and UMLAUF curator Katie Robinson Edwards at 7pm. This event is free and open to the public.
