Uncommon Ramen is a monthly series featuring creative ramen collaborations with renowned chefs. This month, the guest chef is Rick Lopez, Executive Chef of La Condesa, bringing his expertise in Mexican cuisine to Uchibā Austin. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hope Food Pantry Austin. Rick Lopez, a native Texan, has an impressive culinary background, beginning his journey with a seasonal internship in Maine and later honing his skills in New York City under James Beard ‘Rising Star Chef’ Gavin Kaysen at Café Boulud. Upon returning to Texas, Rick worked his way up to Executive Chef at La Condesa, which has been nominated for several James Beard Foundation Awards, including a nomination for Outstanding Restaurant in 2023.
