MAX’s Wine Dive is excited to host a Willy Wonka themed wine dinner Saturday, October 29 at 6 pm at their downtown Austin location. Celebrate the weekend by returning to your childhood roots and enjoying a whimsical themed 5-course dinner with wine pairings. With menu items such as a Turkey Dinner Meatball with Brown Butter Gravy, Grilled Shrimp drizzled with a Chocolate Balsamic and a Chocolate River Fondue; it will reflect the unique personalities of each character from the movie with a delicious, refined twist.

First Course – Augustus’ Chocolate River
Salad of Grilled Shrimp and Coffee Roasted Carrots, with Fire Roasted Chilies, Blood Orange and Chocolate Balsamic
Second Course –Violet’s Three Course Dinner “Chewing Gum”
Roast Beef Carpaccio with Potato Mousse, Crispy Potatoes, Fried Rosemary, Blueberry Tapioca, Blistered Tomato Olive Oil and Sherry Vinegar
Third Course – Veruca’s Golden Egg
Roasted Golden Beet Polenta, topped with Caramelized Golden Chanterelle Mushrooms, Shallots and a Poached Duck Egg
Fourth Course – Mike’s TV Dinner
Turkey Dinner Meatball, Brown Butter Gravy, Bread and Butter Pickled Sweet Corn, Savory Apple Cobbler
Fifth Course – Charlie’s Chocolate Factory
A Scrumdidiliaumptious Feast of Chocolate Goodies, including a Chocolate River Fondue spread

WHO: Led by one of Austin’s most talented young chefs, Executive Chef Erica Beneke, MAX’s Wine Dive is known for its upscale comfort food in a wine-dive setting. Chef Beneke’s menu incorporates locally sourced vegetables, cheeses and meats while its comprehensive wine program offers hand-selected wines from around the world.
