Today is Veteran’s Day and the best way to celebrate is to head to the Georgetown Rotary Club’s Field of Honor. This is a breathtaking display of 1,500 American flags honoring military and first responders. Now in its 5th year, the event will be held at San Gabriel Park and again publicly thank and benefit those who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”

The bell will be rung 11 times at 11:11 a.m. in commemoration of the observance of the signed armistice when guns fell silent following World War I, and in honor of those who have served, and currently serve in wars and battles around the world. A flyover by the Falcon Flight team will add to the meaningful experience for all who attend.

You can also head to the field anytime, day or night, until November 14th.

When: Thursday, November 11th

Time: 11 a.m.–noon

Location:
San Gabriel Park
445 E. Morrow St.
