So you want to go to ACL in the year 2021? It may seem overwhelming with so many different rules at live music venues these days, but don’t fret. We are here to break down exactly how to walk up to the magical gates of Austin City Limits and actually get inside. The short answer is: Paper is big this year! You need actual, physical documents to gain entry to ACL.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Dig up that vaccination card. Are you fully vaccinated? Awesome. It’s not required, but that’s the easiest way to get in. From the ACL safety page: “A person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second shot of Pfizer/Moderna or a single shot of J&J. For example, the last possible date to get your second shot for entry on Friday, October 1 would be September 17.” To prove this, you’ll need a printed copy of your vaccine card or vaccine record. A photo won’t cut it—they need the real thing.
  2. Not vaccinated? OK then. You’ll need to show them a negative test result that was obtained within 72 hours of the day you are showing up. We have partnered with a local lab to make this as easy on our readers as possible. They’ll be set up right there at the Long Center and you can reserve a time slot and get the whole thing done in 10 minutes. It’s a non-invasive saliva test and the results and lab reports will be sent directly to your email within 24 hours—with no annoying portal logins to remember. Also, it’s they are giving y’all a very exclusive rate: Use the referral code ACL2021 during the registration process to get the test for just $90. (Normally it’s $130.)
  3. Print out your negative test result and bring it with you. Before you try to search your emails and flash your phone at the front, we will save you the trouble. Plan ahead and print out your results.

That’s it! Follow those steps and you’ll be all set to have a safe and amazing time.
