We Are Blood is now testing all donations made at their centers and mobile drives for COVID-19 antibodies. This is useful information for you and the the organization. As spikes continue during the COVID-19 pandemic, identifying new potential convalescent plasma donors in Central Texas is critically important for protecting our most vulnerable friends and neighbors.
All whole blood, platelet, ALYX, and convalescent plasma donations will be tested for antibodies. An individual’s results will be displayed under “Wellness Info” in their personal profile on our donor portal. Antibody results will be available approximately 7 days after your donation.
IMPORTANT: Antibody testing cannot detect an active infection or be used to diagnose you with COVID-19. If you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to someone who is positive with COVID-19, you should not donate for at least 14 days from last symptoms or contact date.
