Paramount Education, the family and education side of Austin’s Paramount Theatre, is bringing fun videos and posts for kids to Facebook every Wednesday and Friday throughout the month of April as an extension of the Literacy to Life Live Lessons that take place on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. on Facebook Live.
How It Works
Have the kids participate in Literacy to Life Live Lesson on Monday, April 20 & 27 at 11:30 a.m. CST. The Paramount’s professional teaching artists, the Story Wranglers, will educate kids on the foundations of creative writing and writing original stories together.
On Wednesdays, Paramount Education will post a short 3-5 minute video on their Facebook page of one of their team members teaching an activity based on Monday’s original story. These will include crafts, art activities, and tasty culinary creations. Check out last week’s story about a banana scientist who enjoys ice cream with his grandma – featuring Story Wrangler Sarah showing an easy way to make ice cream at home. You can find it at facebook.com/ParamountEDUATX.
On Fridays, Paramount Education will share a musical adaptation of Monday’s original story, featuring different musicians from the community creating their own unique musical interpretation. It began with last week’s adaptation of “Jerry’s Mushroom Adventure” by multi-talented musician Eddie King of Squirrel Nut Zippers.
