If I’m speaking honestly, the city must be in a massive rest mode as we’re on the forefront of SXSW. It seems like the event schedule in Austin for the next week is pretty tame. I guess that comes as bittersweet news, because the more I read about SX rumors, the more excited I become.

Regardless, we can’t sit inside all week and wait for our ‘adult spring break’ to start. I love the Eastside, and in.gredients is one of my favorite spots on that side of town. They’re involved with so many things in the community and they host a bunch of fun events.

It comes as no surprise that they would host a trivia night. Trivia nights are one of my all time favorite activities; I envision myself yelling out answers to Alex Trebec, much to the disappointment of everyone around me. Trivia nights also usually wrap up by 9:30ish, so you can still make it home at a decent hour on a school night.

If you’re looking for a Trivia Night closer to downtown, Bungalow on Rainey Street also hosts a trivia night this evening.

      When: Thursday evenings

      Time: 7pm

Gourmands, you are amazing. Now I learn that you host a trivia night on Wednesday nights, does it get any better?

If you haven’t been, Gourmands is a little spot on the Eastside that serves up some of the best sandwiches in town. They have fresh bread delivered daily, and the prices are surprisingly low for the size and quality.

Trivia might be the greatest weeknight activity outside of happy hour. It’s a great way to get out of the house, have a few drinks with friends, and still make it home at a decent hour.

You should definitely go hungry though. If you’re just looking for something to snack on, their queso is some of the best in town. They serve it up with these thick-cut tortilla chips that really make it a home-run.

      When: Wednesdays

      Time: 8:00pm

The week has come; after nothing short of an amazing five seasons, the Breaking Bad season finale will air on Sunday. In the weeks leading up to this sure to be epic finale, I’ve learned that apparently everyone I know is a Breaking Bad expert.

Now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. In this one-of-a-kind Breaking Bad Trivia Night you’ll have the opportunity to show everyone that you have been paying attention for the past 61 episodes.

Teams can have up to six people, the event is a ‘winning team take all’ event so bring your best Breaking Bad knowledge. No cheating either, that means no cell phone googling, and no phoning a friend!

If you have nothing to do today and need a refresher, you can spend your day re-watching the series on Netflix. Fun fact: It would actually take you over 40 hours to watch the whole series from start to finish.

Serious bragging rights are at stake since basically everybody and their grandmother watches this show.

      Admission: $5.00 per player

      When: today, September 25th

      Time: 8:00 p.m.

Trivia Night and Gourdough’s could Monday evening be anymore appealing? As is if you needed another reason to go to Gourdough’s, add trivia night to the mix and you’ve got yourself an evening of fun.

The trivia night is simple, they have various rounds of different themed questions.  The questions cover all topics so there are some questions in there that you are bound to know the answer to some! You don’t have to sign up ahead of time, just show up this evening with some friends ready to play. Team sizes are limited to six players.

That’s the trivia end of it..but then you find yourself at Gourdough’s which probably is one of my ultimate guilty pleasures. Trust me everything on the menu will have you wanting to try a bite but my two recommendations are the Ode To The Trailer, a frito pie that is out of this would and the Bacon Me Crazy. Not to mention they have a killer cocktail menu as well, this entire set up is a complete win, win!

      Admission: free

      When: Monday’s

      Time: 8:00 p.m.

      Gourdough’s Public House
      2700 South Lamar Blvd.

Calling all Arrested Development Fans, your day has come. Time to put all those hours of watching the best how on earth to good use with a trivia night!

Come out tonight to test your knowledge of the Bluth’s family antics all while given the opportunity to win prizes!

You can have up to six people on your team. The eight rounds of questions will cover all four seasons so if you have not seen season four, I suggest those become your plans for today.  Winning teams will take home cash prizes of anywhere between $200 – $500. But let’s face it, its not about the money, if there is one show you want bragging rights about winning a trivia night, its this one.

      Time: 10:00 p.m.

Well, we did it.  We survived and showed the Circuit of Americas what Austin is all about.  I can’t wait until next year.  If you have the energy to get out tonight, trivia nights are always fun and make the bar a little more exciting, and usually lead to some interesting conversations.

You and your friends will be tested on all kinds of random knowledge, including history, science, pop culture, or who played first base for the Yankees in 1953.  There’s a little something for everyone and the winning team can score a gift certificate to the bar.

Trivia night wraps up around nine, so you can still go home and call it a night before it gets too late.
