Schlitterhahn

It’s no secret that Austin’s summers can be downright brutal. It’s hard to get outside without immediately searching for a cool beverage or a big shady tree. But when the kids can’t stomach another day indoors, there are water parks full of thrills for all ages.

Here are six water parks in Central Texas fit for a day of fun.

Schlitterbahn

Perhaps Texas’ best-known water park, Schlitterbahn’s enormous water park is split into four sections with river rides, pools, waterslides, and “adventures from mild to wild” that will appeal to everyone. Every section of the park also has a swim-up bar, a “not-so-lazy river,” a children’s play area, and rides. Plus, Schlitterbahn allows guests to bring their own coolers with a picnic lunch.

The seasonally open outdoor park has slides, two kid’s areas, another swim-up bar, and an “adventure river.”
