In honor of National Chicken Wing Day, I decided to call our friends and hot-wing enthusiasts, Taite Pruitt and Nathan Archer, to help us round up a list of the spiciest chicken wings in the city. Admittedly, I can’t personally take the heat, but it’s always entertaining to watch these two power through tears to finish off baskets of capsaicin soaked wings.

All of these locations are currently offering takeout  and most of them are offering third-party delivery. Not seeing your favorite spot on the list? Email us: Hello@365ThingsAustin.com

5. Pluckers – Fire In The Hole

Were you shocked to see Pluckers listed as only the fifth spiciest wings in Austin? I was too. Step into your local Pluckers and you’ll see pictures of folks who have conquered these wings. According to Reddit, the actual level of heat can vary based on who is in the kitchen that day and how they’re feeling emotionally. Proceed with caution even though they’re high on this list.

Pluckers is celebrating its anniversary and National Wing Day with $0.75 wings and $1 Bud Lights on July 29th.

4. Wingzup – Ghost

Wingzup Ghost Wings

Wingzup is a neighborhood favorite for quality chicken wings with or without the heat, but the “Ghost” wings are known as some of the hottest in town. Our judges actually prefer the flavor of the “Scary” wings, which are one step below the on the heat index.

3. Wicked Wings – Wicked

Wicked Wings Austin

These are the wickedest of the wings and made one of our judges tear up. Not coincidentally, they’re also his favorite wings in town. Our 365 Founder, Kristy Owen, vouches for the fries.

2. Fourth & Co – F%ck You Up

Fourth & Co Wings

This new bar on Fourth Street only has a few food options, and they do all of them well. The F%ck You Up wings will do just that, and they’re tough to handle even for the most seasoned spicy food fans.

1. Tommy Want Wingy – Holy Schnikes

In Austin, Tommy Want Wingy reigns supreme with the hottest hot wings in the city. The wings here are french cut into “chicken lollipops,” which provides a perfect bite every time. Check them out off South Congress in the Cosmic Coffee courtyard or on Rainey Street at Lustre Pearl.
