LBJ Wildflower Center is staying open late every Tuesday to make more hours for wildflowers! Make it a date night, a distanced picnic with friends, or come for some solo solace as spring does its thing. Each evening will feature live music from local musicians, featured visual artists, a rolling lineup of Austin’s favorite food trucks, and take-and-walk adult beverages will be available for purchase, too. Pool Passes At Austin Motel
Austin Motel just announced two new pool passes available daily through October at the iconic 1100 sq ft. kidney shaped pool, including a Day Pass and Adult-only Night Swim Pass, along with F&B favorites such as the signature Rocky’s Spicy Mango Michelada. Day Passes are available every day from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and Adult Night Swim Pass available daily from 5 p.m–10 p.m. Day Passes are $20 Monday–Thursday and $40 over the weekend. Adult Night Swim Passes are $15 daily.

Good Vibes Only Ft. Scott Strickland
Starting at 8 p.m., join The Long Center for their ninth episode April 7th featuring the bold, soulful sounds of Scott Strickland. Good Vibes Only is the Long Center’s series of free, fully-produced performances from local artists safely recorded in our Rollins Studio Theatre. Queer Film Theory 101: Spring Flings
After a lifetime diet of heteronormative Hollywood fare, Austin’s Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival’s Queer Film Theory 101 dissects films from the past and points out the hidden queer narratives. Even the most normative cinematic offering can become a gay ol’ time when pressed into shape by a warm, powerful queer palm. This promises to be an enlightening conversation from our panel filled with memories of films gone by and good laughs about how they shaped our gay realities. Tickets are $12.

Ghostwriter At Buzz Mill
As the Buzz Mill brings live music back to their schedule, Ghostwriter returns on Friday, April 9th. Ghostwriter has performed as a one-man stripped-down roots act for close to twenty years, and released nine albums on his own End of the West label. Once dubbed “the original punk-folk troubadour,” Ghostwriter comes off as a post-punk version of a Harry Smith era self-accompanied singer-songwriter. No cover, and show starts at 8 p.m.
10 Things I Hate About You At The Globe Drive-In
The Globe Drive-In is now operating at their new location in Pflugerville. Doors open at 7:35 p.m. and spots are assigned by car size and a first come first serve basis. Arrive by 8:05 p.m. so they have time to check everyone in. Movie starts at 8:20 and concessions are available on-site. Tickets are for a single movie event.

Keep Austin Beautiful Day 2021
Each April, Keep Austin Beautiful mobilizes hundreds of volunteers for an incredible day of community service throughout the Greater Austin Area. This year, they are encouraging individuals and members of the same household to remove litter from their favorite neighborhood spots, and are offering a limited number of free cleanup kits. To kick off the day, they will be hosting an interactive Facebook Live Event from 9–10 a.m. that will include exciting incentives, family fun activities, and much more!
RKB Crawfish Boil
Revelry Kitchen + Bar is having their big crawfish boil this Saturday. Live music from the David Thacker Band on the patio. Enjoy RKB crawfish, potatoes, corn, sausage, and their house seasoning. They’ll start serving at 2 p.m. until sold out.
Spring Fling Silent Disco
Head to The W Wet Deck on April 10th for Austin’s Silent Disco’s Spring Full Moon Fling! Doors are at 6 p.m. and the event will run until 10:30 p.m. Dance to sets by three local DJ’s and Rockstar Photobooth will be there to capture all of your best moments. With your pair of sanitized ASD headphones, you can adjust the volume and choose between our 3 DJs with the flick of a switch. Each headset has a color LED that shows which channel you’re listening to. You can dance along with those tuning in to the same DJ as you, creating a super social and super interactive experience. Sound Healing At The Cathedral
Swift Fit Events presents Monday Night Sound Healing sessions with local meditation and retreat leader Meg Sylvester at East Austin’s event space The Cathedral. Bask in an hour of slow movements and breathwork to the sounds of crystal bowls, accompanied by singing and chimes. Afterwards, wind-down even more with a CBD cocktail from Sweet Crude. Tickets are $25.
Composting: Panel Presentation On Various Methods By Keep Austin Beautiful
Join Keep Austin Beautiful and Austin Organic Gardeners online via Zoom for a panel of speakers who will dig into various composting methods. Compost Coalition of Austin has also generously donated a bokashi compost bucket that we will be giving away in a drawing to a random Austin Organic Gardeners member. Make & Take: Asian Dumpling At Central Market
During Central Market’s Make & Take, you’ll sample a variety of dumplings as their instructors offer tips on steaming, frying and boiling these bite-sized morsels. The fillings and wrappers will be ready and waiting. As their instructors guide you, your nimble fingers will fill and fold and create several dipping sauces. For ages 16 and up (children 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult). Class starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $65 to attend.

Schitt’s Creek Patio Trivia At Irene’s
From 7–9 p.m. Irene’s is hosting patio trivia over Schitt’s Creek. Trivia is free to attend and consists of five separate rounds. Bring your team of up to six players and a fully charged phone to submit your answers on. Prizes will be awarded!

One Love Comedy Show
One Love Comedy Show brings the best standup comedians in Austin to Pershing every month. Their first show includes comics from Comedy Central, Showtime, Conan, Late Night with Seth Myers, and the Joe Rogan Experience. This month they are headlined by Fahim Anwar. Tickets start at $10.
UTOPIAfest – Sweet Party
Sweet Party! is an extra intimate, family reunion campout, With Music on the arrowhead stage, at Four Sisters Ranch in Utopia, Texas taking place April 15th–17th. Plan it like a camping trip. Headliner Series: Mike E. Winfield At The Santa Cruz Theater
Starting at 7 p.m. Mike E. Winfield will be performing at the Santa Cruz Theater during their Headliner Series. His comedy is refreshing and relatable in a way that makes him a comedic genius. Tickets start at $25.

Austin’s Spring Festival
The 2021 Spring Festival at Barton Hill Farms is the perfect way to spend a nice, spring day in Central Texas. Take spring photos with the family under the cottonwood trees. Pick your very own flower bouquet from their beautiful flower patch. Enjoy live music, fresh food, and cold beer—or just take a break, relax on a swing beneath a shady tree, and let the Colorado River wash your cares away. Glow Show At Spider House Ballroom
Glow Show is a trippy glow in the dark themed comedy event. Stand up comedians perform under black lights and after their set riff with Joey Z about their adventures and misadventures eating psychedelics. Spring Mini Market
Join SoCo Hotel for Spring Mini Market presented by Bev! New to Spring Mini Market is Mini Shop, a retail pop up that allows them to safely include an additional 16 women-owned, small businesses into their vendor lineup. They are proud to safely host a total of 34 women-owned, small businesses this spring. Artist Talk With Tacita Dean
Acclaimed British artist Tacita Dean wasn’t sure what she’d capture when she set out to photograph renowned art critic and collector Leo Steinberg at work. What transpired is quite the story, with the result on view as a photographic series in the Blanton’s exhibition, After Michelangelo, Past Picasso: Leo Steinberg’s Library of Prints. On Wednesday, April 21st at noon CT, join curators Holly Borham and Carter Foster for a conversation with Dean about what inspired this art work, which visualizes Steinberg’s dictum, “the eye is part of the mind.”

Our Responsibility to Each Other: Achieving BIPOC Solidarity
Join Six Square online at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the intricacies, challenges, and necessity of BIPOC solidarity. In a time when white supremacy insists on distracting us from the real root of racial injustice, we must stand together and recognize our collective pain as well as our collective power. Six Square’s team represents a broad spectrum of diverse identities: Black, Asian, Puerto Rican, female, queer. As a diverse organization, they navigate anti-racism work with our shared trauma and motivation while also honoring the differences in our experiences and communities.

KLBJ Rocks the Nutty Brown Amphitheatre with Bob Schneider. This is a socially distanced show with extremely limited capacity. All tables and all pods of related guests will be located at least 6 feet apart at all times. This show is all ages. All minors will be charged an additional $5 at the door. Rocky Drive-In Screening With Way South Philly Cheesesteaks
Come join the Community Cinema in a safe, socially distanced setting at Community First! Village for their screening of Rocky at 7:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by Austin Board of Realtors, and they will be partnering with Way South Philly for some delicious Philly Cheesesteaks.
