August Asanas: Monday Meditations 

Begin each week with a sense of balance and calm at Zilker Botanical Garden’s August Asana. Every Monday they’ll have a gentle yoga session and guided meditation in the gardens. 

Margherita Mondays

No one wants to cook on Monday. For $15 you can get a Side Eye Margherita pizza and Meanwhile Pilsner at Meanwhile Brewing. Bonus, they have a playground if your- not cooking- includes having to feed youngins. 

Bachelorette Watch Party

If you’re a Bachelorette Junkie, Dainty Dillo has the Monday activity for you. Dillo has a Bachelorette Watch Party every Monday with half off espresso martinis, $7 cocktails, snack boards, and themed squared boards where if you pick the winning man, you win a prize.

Free Tuesday At The Blanton

Moody Family Free Day Endowment provides Free Tuesdays at the Blanton every Tuesday. Find exhibits like De Moda: Fashion, Ceremony, and Symbols of Resilience, and Sky Dances Light that explores the legacies of different Indigenous teachings through art.

August 2nd to 4th

Night Birds, An Intimate Celebration of Art + Dance 

The Cathedral and Ventana Ballet flock together again for the immersive presentation of Night Birds, an avian-themed, 360-degree performance featuring nine dancers, three cellists, and vibrant art from the atxGALS collective. They’ll even have two children matinee performances this year. Tickets are going quick so grab them while you can. 


August 3rd

Banger’s 12 Anniversary- Safari Party and Beer Festival

The landscape around Banger’s may have changed since they first opened but they’ve held steadfast in their roots the past 12 years. To celebrate their anniversary, they’re throwing a Safari Party & Beer Festival. They’ll have five new exotic sausages of elk, bison, turtle, camel, and wild boar exclusively for the event. Plus beer collabs and live music going all day. 

​​Open Canopy

Open Canopy is truly the opening of the doors of dozens of private art studios for the public. This month, Dripping Springs Vodka will get in the mix with FREE drinks on the patio. They’ll also have a guest DJ and local vendors while you shop the different studios. Don’t worry, it isn’t all “open”, they have areas of AC available.


August 4th

Big Summer Bash 2024 – Hot Dog Eating Contest 

Head over to East 6th for the Big Summer Bash and Hot Dog Eating Contest. They’ll have 6 bands on deck ready to cover the “bash” element of it all. Then of course a hot dog eating contest, food from Keeter’s Kitchen and D. Branch Boudin, and cheap drinks.


August 5th

Park and Hang

Kinda Tropical and Tough Enuff are partnering up for a classic car meet up, Park and Hang. They’ll have drink and food specials post happy hour so you can keep the Monday shenanigans going.


August 6th

Maie Day Deep Cuts Dinner Series

Maie Day is obsessed with the quality of their steaks. Which makes for the perfect excuse for them to highlight the relationships they have with Texas partners, farms, and friends at their Deep Cuts Dinner Series. It will be a three-course dining experience celebrating high-quality pasture-raised beef in every dish. 


August 7th

Camp Lenoir: Texas Wines & BBQ 

The kind of adult Camp we are looking for, Camp Lenoir:Texas Wines & BBQ. Lenoir has invited William Chris Vineyards to take over their private dining and event house to give a unique tasting experience pairing TX and KC barbeque with just the right wine. 


August 8th 

CHARLI XCX vs LORDE Dance Party

Volstead is calling for all those celebrating the summer of BRAT to dance the night away at their CHARLI XCX vs LORDE Dance Party. Get down with your people sipping on brat-themed cocktails until the wee hours of the morning. 


August 8th to 11th 

Dog Days of Summer

Beat the heat with four nights of music at Meanwhile Brewing’s Dog Days of Summer event. They’ve stacked the lineup with some favorite local bands and entry is FREE. 


August 9th

“Dream Your Self Awake”

For one night only, artist Bode Robinson will be showing off his latest masterpieces in the exhibition Dream Your Self Awake at the Frances Modern Inn. Bode will have new work, new merch, AC, and the champ flowing.


August 9th and 10th

Cedar Park Rodeo 2024

Lets go y’all, it’s Cedar Park Rodeo time. They’ll have two evenings of professional rodeo events including bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, girls barrel racing, girls breakaway roping, team roping, and the fan favorite mutton busting.


August 10th

Texas Testicle Festival

Ya, you read that right. Fredericksburg is hosting a Texas Testicle Festival. Rocky Mountain Oysters will be abundant if you have the balls to stomach them (or feel like tricking a friend that doesn’t know what Rocky Mountain Oysters are). They’ll also have burgers, pork sandwiches, and ribeye if the testis aren’t for you. Regardless, it’s a festival so expect live local music and plenty of adult beverages as well. 

Cactus Market ATX Summer Sale and Show

As a firm believer that you can never have too many plants, especially cacti in Texas, the Cactus Market Summer Sale and Show is the perfect go to. It will be held at Dripping Springs Distilling and they are expecting over 20 plant vendors to come show off their goods. Plus a silent auction and flash tattoos to commemorate the occasion. 


August 11th

Design & Wine: Chewed Paper

William Chris Wines are our go to wine experts and if they say paper mache and wine go together, we believe them. Join their Design & Wine: Chewed Paper event to flex your creative skills. Participants will receive instructions on how to make their own paper mache piece while sipping delicious wine (to really get those creative juices flowing). 


August 12th

WWE Monday Night RAW

WWE Monday Night RAW is coming to Austin for one night only. The current line up is World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Main Event Jey Uso,, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, The Awesome Truth featuring The Miz and R-Truth, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, and more.


August 13th

Ikebana + Sake Workshop

The Spotted Poppy is holding a workshop on Ikebana, the Japanese art of floral design, at TONARI by Uroko. It’s a sip-and-craft class with premium sake from Japan for your sipping pleasure. This beginner friendly class will provide all the materials to make your own beautiful arrangement to take home.

Flights and Bites Summertime Spritzen

Sure we all know how to make a cocktail, right? Maybe a little help could come in handy. Juliet wants you to join them to learn the true art of Spritzing Around Italy by teaching you how to make 3 regional spritzes.

Cirque du Soleil Songblazers

Bass Concert Hall is opening their doors for Cirque du Soleil’s newest show- Songblazers. Touted as a one-of-a-kind theatrical production celebrating country music that pays homage to its legendary and modern day trailblazers. Perfectly made for Texas!


August 15th 

Relaxation Day Happy Hour

Unwind at Blue Owl Brewing for National Relaxation Day. As the scent of Palo Santo hits you when you walk through the door, you’ll be surrounded by soothing music, a cold beverage will magically appear in your hands and an eye mask will be erasing all those past mistakes. Or something like that. They will have all of that plus $3 pints of Cool & the Gang all day. 


August 16th

Summer Boat Bash

Our final Summer Boat Bash with Float On and Nutrl! Join Austin365 as we drink, eat, dance, and swim the day away. We always have a blast at these events and are eternally grateful the party boat has AC to cool down in when needed. 


August 17th

Fridge Fest

Be cool at the second annual Fridge Fest at Superstition. The whole club will be decorated in an ice theme to really get you in the mood. Plus ticket holders have access to the $4000 bar tab, while it lasts. Catch multiple DJ sets, raffles, photo ops, merch, food trucks, and more. 


August 18th

Lagers and Literature 

For the third year, Meanwhile Brewing will invite the local literature scene to come out for Lagers & Literature. A true bibliophile dream that will include local authors, book specific vendors, button making, zine making, book press coasters, customized poems, live screen printing, and more. Meanwhile is even donating $1 per pilsner sold to Inside Books Project (bring your books to donate to them as well!).  


August 20th

Goldilocks Market

Every third Tuesday of the month, Haymaker teams up with ATX Thrift for a Goldilocks Market. A free, family friendly gathering that will have all the treasures we’ve come to love ATX Thrift for finding for us. Haymaker will have drink specials going for the event and their kitchen will be firing out a diverse menu of regionally-inspired sandwiches, classic burgers and poutine for your chewing pleasure. 


August 21st

Fresh Handmade Pasta Cooking Class

Master the art of Italian pasta at Fareground’s Pasta Cooking Class. The perfect date night or night out with a friend. Box pasta will never taste the same again. 


August 22nd

TEASE TEASE TEASE: A Sabrina Carpenter Listening Party + Dance Party

Party to the hottest music from Sabrina Carpenter, Madison Beer, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, and more at The Ballroom at Spider House’s Tease, Tease, Tease Listening Party. Feel light as a feather at the flirty pop dance night. 


August 23rd

Uptown Sports and Meanwhile Brewing Backyard BBQ

The third of four installments of the Uptown Sports Club and Meanwhile Brewing Co. summer Backyard BBQ. They’re bringing together chefs, Meanwhile beers, and live music in a setting that is reminiscent of the classic summer barbeque. This round stars Chef Davis Turner from Huckleberry. 


August 24th

MeadowFest 

MeadowFest will bring some of Austin’s best talent to The Far Out Lounge while celebrating the life of Meadow Goodman and raising awareness and funds for mental health. Out Youth Austin and the SIMS Foundation, two organizations dedicated to supporting mental health in our community, will receive 100% of the proceeds after event expenses have been met. The unique benefit and mini-fest will feature performances of course, but also a variety of vendors, tabling from nonprofits, and an indoor VIP lounge.

Dog Days of Summer

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy’s Dog Days of Summer. Bring the kids, bring the pups, and enjoy a day filled with fun. Austin Dog Photographer, Zilker Bark, will even be onsite for pup portraits


August 25th

Plants & Pints Market

Meanwhile Brewing is launching their Blue Corn Lager with the help of Leaf Lovers Club at the Plants & Pints Market. Shop a variety of plants with Leaf Lovers Club while sipping their new beer made with Hopi Blue Corn from Barton Springs Mill. A portion of the Blue Corn Lager sales will benefit EarthShare Texas, who are dedicated to pursuing positive environmental and health impacts across Texas for the benefit of all. 


August 26th

Tropicana Tuesdays 

Every Fourth Tuesday, check out Hotel San Jose for their Tropicana Tuesdays. Tropicana Joe will be spinning vintage markets and the bar will be serving up tropical cocktails. Sail away without leaving South Congress. 


August 28th

Movie Night: Tommy Boy

Central Machine Works will be screening Tommy Boy in their beer garden. Get your Chris Farley fix while enjoying the fresh popcorn they’ll provide. 


August 29th

American Pie Emo Night

American Pie (and Rookie of the Year) actor Thomas Ian Nicholas is bringing his band out to Parish for American Pie Emo Night. They’ll show American Pie- that is turning 25 years old- then follow it up with live music.  


August 30th

Goth Summer

Dig out your high school goth look and dance to an all-goth playlist at Hotel San Jose’s Goth Summer. They want you to feel good about feeling bad.
