Sundown Soundset at Lamar Union

Join Swift Fit Events for Sundown Soundset, an evening full of rooftop movements and sounds at sunset followed by a dance party overlooking Downtown Austin. Presented by Ranch Rider Spirits, there will also be fun stuff from Kin Euphorics and Lamar Union businesses; Greenbelt Botanicals, Shake Shack, TLC, and Kalologie. The event starts at 8 p.m. and wraps up around 11 p.m.

Hotel Vegas x Volstead 10.5 Year Anniversary Weekend

Hotel Vegas and The Volstead Lounge, are excited to celebrate over a decade in the Austin music and entertainment scene with a free, 10.5-year anniversary party followed by two nights of shows on August 6th and 7th. The weekend’s festivities kick off Thursday, August 5th from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., with a night full of great programming, special cocktails, and food offerings from the venue’s own Vegas Concessions food truck, vendors, live music, and more.

Shuck Off Friday At Still Austin Whiskey Co.

Farm Yoga At Boggy Creek

Keep Austin Powwow’n At Central Machine Works

Central Machine Works is hosting Keep Austin Powwow’n put on by Great Promise for American Indians to raise funds for the Austin Powwow in November. From 7–11 p.m., there will be Native American dancers, live music, and an art show!


August 8th

“All Tequila, All Shade” Drag Brunch At La Condesa

Join La Condesa at their Austin Pride “All Tequila, All Shade” Drag Brunch. Enjoy brunch with a side of drag, music by @djeriqstylez, drinks by the carafe, a limited special menu, and Pride-themed cocktails. Ticketed reservations are required and cost $22/person and include access to the show and a custom clack fan. The show kicks off at 12:15 p.m. with performances by local royalty @msritzybitz, @thecelialight, and @casadymilan.


August 9th

Silent Book Club At Cenote

Silent Book Club Austin is meeting on the patio at Cenote from 6:30–8:30 p.m., and it’s the perfect introvert happy hour! Everyone reads their own book, at their own pace. There are no assigned readings, no discussion questions to prepare for just a comfortable place to relax among other book lovers for the night.


August 10th

Cherrywood Comedy Showcase

Come to Cherrywood Comedy Showcase, a safe, outdoor, sexy, standup comedy show featuring some of the funniest comedians. Bring your whole house, because you’ll all fit at one of the 20+ picnic tables—all spaced 6 feet apart. Best of all, the show is free (tips are greatly appreciated)! Come early to get a table, because this show fills up quickly!

Blues On The Green

Celebrate 30 years of Blues on the Green at Zilker Park on Tuesday, August 10th with Grupo Fantasma’s Handpicked Homegrown All-Star Revue! Featuring Third Root, Kalu James, Tomar Williams, and more. Then head back to Zilker Park on Wednesday, August 11th for a night of free music starting with Zach Person and a headlining set from Sir Woman! The music starts at 8 p.m. on both nights.


August 11th

King Bee And Golden Castle Takeover The Cavalier

King Bee and Golden Castle takeover the Cavalier for one night only from 6–10 p.m.
Bartenders Antonio Matta and Kevin Rhodes share their Cavalier/King Bee cocktail collaborations while the good folks at Golden Castle steamed hams sling their best burgers from The Cavalier’s brick and mortar kitchen. Plus, there’s an after-party at King Bee from 10 p.m. until close.

Austin Home And Garden Show

The Austin Home & Garden Show is a vibrant marketplace where guests are invited to shop for home-related products and services, experience stunning displays to help inspire home projects, connect with industry experts, and enjoy informative presentations from renowned local and international home professionals. It will take place August 13th–15th from 2–7 p.m.

Candle Making Class

Learn to make candles at this fun workshop at Suds Money Brew! You’ll choose your colors and scents and make an 8 oz candle to take home. You’ll learn about different candle-making techniques, wax types, and supplies so you’ll be a candle-making pro whether you’re looking for a new hobby or just want to impress others with all your awesome candle knowledge.


August 14th

River Rodeo Festival 2021

River Rodeo Fest is a music experience along the Guadalupe River in historic Gruene, Texas.  The inaugural festival will feature musical acts like Houndmouth, Fruit Bats, Buffalo Nichols, and more, on-site vendor park, food and drinks, and a unique experience or two. Festival-goers are encouraged to enjoy a day on the Guadalupe River with the floating ticket package before coming back on land for the concerts later in the day. Tickets start at $85.


August 15th

Connect Four Tournament At Barton Springs Saloon

Come test your might at the 4th Connect 4 Tournament at the Barton Springs Saloon. It’s free to play and kicks off at 2 p.m. It’ll be Double elimination. First and second place will receive sweet sweet saloon bucks.

“Everybody Say Love” Pride Market At SoCo Hotel

Celebrate Austin Pride Month at South Congress Hotel’s “Everybody Say Love!” Pride Market, in partnership with Eastside Pop-Up + The Little Gay Shop, on Sunday, August 15th from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.. Rad Time: A Comedy Party At Fallout Theater

Rad Time is the new party-themed stand-up comedy show from Austin comedian Derek Kopswa. At Rad Time, four comics make the audience laugh with jokes and then show off their hidden talents or party tricks. It’s $5 online, $7 at the door, and starts at 9:30 p.m.


August 17th

Pub Trivia: New Girl

Head to Waterloo Icehouse on Burnet Rd. for some trivia on everyone’s favorite show: New Girl! It’s free to play and there will be prizes for the winners. Teams can be made up of 1–6 people and costumes are encouraged.


August 18th

Diva Yoga At Mohawk

Diva Yoga will be a mix of all your favorite power female artists to a Vinyasa flow. Sun salutations to Beyoncé and Rihanna. Get balanced with SZA and Lizzo. Catch a zen moment with Adele and H.E.R. Class is $20 and starts at 7 p.m.

Kesha And Betty Who At ACL Live

Bible Study Sunday Service Drag Brunch

True Crime: My Favorite Murder Trivia Night

August 26th

Trovador Heritage Launch Party

Join Trovador Customs at Higher Ground for an evening of live music, drinks, and their latest hat designs! The first 100 people to RSVP will get a complimentary cocktail from Ranch Rider.

East Austin Taco Run

The East Austin Taco Run is a 4.5-mile route that stops at three ATX taco hot spots along the way: Cuantos Tacos, Nixta Taqueria, and Discada. The run kicks off at 7 p.m. but if you come a little early at 6:30 you can try on the fleet of Saucony shoes and even demo a pair for the entire run! It starts and ends at Cuantos, and when you get back there will be complimentary ice-cold beverages from Central Machine Works.


August 27th

Candle Making Class

August 28th

Austin Train Show

Enjoy over 25,000 square feet of railroading fun for the entire family at the Palmer Events Center on the 28th and the 29th. There will be vendors, model, and Lego railroads, and a home layout tour included. Starts at 10 a.m. on both days and costs $8 to attend. Kids 12 and under are free!


August 29th

Drag Queen Bingo Brunch At Still Austin Whiskey Co.

Head to Still Austin for free Bingo Brunch with Senator Colleen Deforrest in their cocktail garden. There will be a brunch menu available from the Bearded Baking Company and specialty brunch cocktails. Prizes with each round.


August 30th

Best Show In Texas: 5 Shows In 1

Five comedy showrunners face off in one of the most fast-paced comedy contests in the area during the Best Show In Texas. Each showrunner is given fifteen minutes of time to do whatever kind of show they’d like. It can be a concept show or just a simple showcase, it can only be one comic or twenty comics, the possibilities are endless. At the end of the night the audience gets to vote, and decide who had the Best Show In Texas! Tickets are $10.
